David P. Hauk, O.D. has been a resident of Berks
County since 1973, graduating from
Kutztown Area High School in 1976. He received a B.S. degree in
biology from Muhlenberg College of Allentown, Pa in 1980. He then
attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry
in Philadelphia. Upon graduation, he and a colleague operated a
private practice in
Hamburg before joining Eyeland Optical as a full-time Optometrist.
Dr. Hauk is a very active member of Good Shepherd United Church
of Christ in Tuckerton, where he teaches adult Christian Education
classes, sings in the choir and occasionally acts
as pastor. Bicycling, classical music and writing are among his
various interests.

Dr. Jeffrey Snyder is an alumnus of Lehigh
University and earned his Optometric degree
from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He completed his residency
at the Eye Institute
of Pennsylvania, specializing in contact lenses and family practice.
With over twenty years
of experience, Dr. Snyder is a member of the Optometric Honor Society,
the American Optometric Association and the Pennsylvania Optometric
Association. He also possesses
a Pennsylvania Optometric Therapeutic Certification.

Katherine D. Loch, O.D. received her undergrad
training from Beaver College in Glensdale
with a B.A. in Chemistry. In 2000, she earned her B.S. in Visual
Science from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and ultimately
her O.D., graduating with honors in 2003.
Dr. Loch specializes in pediatric and geriatric optometry. She is
licensed in the use of diagnostic and therapeutic drugs and has
experience with post-operative management
of LASIK and cataract patients. In addition,
she has significant experience with the treatment and management
of ocular emergencies and pathology.
Dr. Loch is a member of the American Optometric Association and
the Pennsylvania
Optometric Association.

Dr. Michael Bonner attended Lycoming College of Williamsport
where he was awarded several scholarships including: the Lycoming
College Scholarship, the Baker Endowment Scholarship and the United
Methodist Church Scholarship. He achieved the Dean’s List
and was a member of the Tri Beta National Biological Honor Society
and the Omicron Delta Epsilon Economics Honor Society while earning
a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Economics in 1998.
Dr. Bonner then attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and
earned his O.D. in 2002 with a license to prescribe therapeutic
drugs in the treatment of pathology and glaucoma.
He currently resides in Montoursville, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Charles Tlush has over twenty years of
experience in health services. His acquired skills include optometric
testing; fitting and evaluation of standard and specialty soft contact
lenses; pre- and post-surgical care of cataract and LASIK patients.
Dr. Tlush received his B.A. in Biology at St. Louis University before
getting additional training at Temple University in mathematics
and biochemistry. He then attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry,
receiving his O.D. in 1977. He has been practicing at Eyeland Optical
since 1988.
Dr. Tlush is active in his community including being a member of
the Perkasie Lions Club.

Dr. Joseph Richards graduated with honors in
1976 from Penn State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree
in Biology. He received his doctorate in Optometry in 1983 from
the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, also graduating with honors.
He served his internship at the renowned Feinbloom Center of the
Eye Institute of Philadelphia, which specializes in
Low Vision Rehabilitation.
Dr. Richards has been associated with Eyeland Optical for over twenty
years.

Dr. Thomas Piccirlli graduated Magna Cum Laude
from the Wyoming Area High School as a member of the National Honor
Society. He attended the university of Scranton where he made the
Dean’s List and became a member of the Pre-Professional Honor
Society before graduating Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology.
While attending the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, he earned
the Alumni Association Scholar Award before achieving his O.D. in
1988. He also earned clinical honors at the Wilkes-Barre VA Hospital
and the Eye Institute of Philadelphia, Pa.Dr. Piccirilli currently
resides in Wilkes-Barre with his wife, Jeanne.

Dr. Romaine Johnson has lived and practiced
in the Lehigh Valley Area for over 22 years. He completed his undergraduate
education at Bloomsburg University before moving on to earn his
O.D. at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. He
performed his internship at By Pines VA Hospital in St. Petersburg,
Florida, where he specialized in geriatric and contact lens optometry.
In 1994, Dr. Johnson was certified in ocular therapeutics in the
treatment for eye disease.
Currently, he resides in Easton with his wife and children. He enjoys
fishing and playing golf in his free time.

Dr. Eugene Wiragh earned an Associates degree
of Science at Trenton State College before entering the Pennsylvania
College of Optometry where he achieved his O.D. He performed his
internship at Spring Garden Clinic in Philadelphia and also studied
diagnostic and therapeutic drugs at the University of Alabama.

Dr. George Falcone graduated from Scranton Preparatory
High School before completing his undergraduate studies at Wilkes
University, where he received his Bachelors degree in 1974. He then
attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia,
earning his O.D. in 1979. Shortly after graduation, Dr. Falcone
opened a private practice in Pittston which is still in operation
today. During this time, he was on the State Board of Optometry
for eight years. In May of 2007, Dr. Falcone joined the Eyeland
Optometric Group as the O.D. for Eyeland Optical's Berwick location.
He is an active member of the Saint Maria Goretti
Church in Laflin, Pa and was an officer with the YMCA Parents Association
for the girls swim team. Currently, Dr. Falcone resides in Plains
Township with his wife and daughter.

Dr. James Foley was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre,
Pa. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in photography from the
State University of New York at Binghamton and worked as a news
photographer for the Wilkes-Barre Times Leader Evening News from
1974 to 1978. With a desire to enter the health care field, he acquired
a job as an orderly and Orthopedic Technician at the Wilkes-Barre
General Hospital while taking the pre-med curriculum at Wilkes College.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Science in 1980
while studying at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia.
Dr. Foley was awarded his Doctor of Optometry and graduated with
clinical honors from PCO in 1983.
Upon graduation, he worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital
system in Bay Pines, Florida and in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania,
after which he accepted a position with a surgical practice in Pottsville.
Dr. Foley practiced at the Eye Care Center in Pottsville for over
four years. In addition to expertise with contact lenses and visual
problems, Dr. Foley’s 14 years of practice with surgical patients
provided him with significant experience with optical pathology.
In 1997, he was certified by the Pennsylvania Board of Optometry
to treat and prescribe for eye diseases, a distinction which only
one in every six Pennsylvania Optometrists can claim. Dr. Foley
has also written and published several articles for professional
journals such as Optometric Management and he has taught and moderated
classes in refraction, contact lenses and management of surgical
patients. Dr. Foley and his family have lived in Port Carbon since
1988. |
